And one of the questions that has come up a lot lately is WHEN should you outsource vs DIY Squarespace SEO? And more importantly, WHAT does that look like and HOW does it work?

Outsource vs DIY Squarespace SEO

First of all, let me start off by saying that I am THRILLED that you are even thinking about Squarespace SEO! It is SO important and one of the best online marketing strategies you can use to grow your brand/business online, reach more of your dream clients and target customers, book out your services and sell more products, and generally bust through obscurity on the internet!

Seriously, this is great news and it’s truly music to my ears, as a Squarespace SEO expert.

HOWEVER before you dive down this glorious little rabbithole, you probably want to know HOW to do it.

Because when it comes to Squarespace SEO, you have two options on how to get started/proceed:

DIY (do it yourself)
Outsource it (aka hire an expert - like me!)

There are pros/cons to both approaches and definitely a few things to consider that might help you make the choice that’s right for you.

Ask yourself: will you do the SEO work yourself?

Answer the question honestly - IF you had all the knowledge and resources around Squarespace SEO at your disposal…. would you actually do the work?

This is the biggest question to start with and again, I want to remind you that there is NO WRONG ANSWER. You are not “better” because you want to/are able to do Squarespace SEO yourself, just the same way as you’re not “better” off by simply hiring an expert to help you out or take it off your plate.

Many people are willing to try out DIY Squarespace SEO IF they have the resources they need to get started, the steps to follow clearly lined out for them, all the info they need to start tinkering around on their websites. I always say “the more the merrier” and I think it’s rad that they feel adventurous, and willing to give it a shot, start out as a beginner, and want to learn how Squarespace SEO works. The DIY route is perfect for this group of people.

However, there’s equally many people who are like, “you know what no, Squarespace SEO is not in my zone of genius and while I want it done, I don’t want to be the one actually doing it”. They’re not interested in learning how it works, they don’t want to tinker away or fiddle around with the SEO settings on the back end of their Squarespace website, and they definitely don’t trust their tech skills. They know that they do a lot of other things realllllllly well, and they’re totally find that Squarespace SEO isnt’ one of themm. This second group will likely decide to outsource Squarespace SEO, and I love that for them.

So, if you know yourself well and know that you just don’t actually want to do Squarespace SEO yourself, you’re already procrastinating or coming up with excuses why now isn’t the right time to get started… then don’t pressure yourself into DIY’ing it if you’re going to hate the experience.

Outsource it sooner than later, save yourself the frustration and get the results you want much faster.

There are experts out there in Squarespace SEO (like me!) who would be happy to do it for you, and there’s no shame in passing it off if you don’t want to do it.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to Squarespace SEO, you can start small if you want or go straight to working with an expert - either someone like me or a large agency if that’s more of your jam.

Pick the option that’s right for you, try it out and see if you like it, and if it’s not or you aren’t getting the results you want then no shame, work with a pro who will get you there faster and easier!

Do what makes sense for you, your business, your goals, and your own personal interests. Squarespace SEO can suit your needs, so long as you give it a chance!

Be honest with yourself, know how much work you’re willing to take on, and that will guide your next steps.
