Is your Squarespace website built on version 7.0 or 7.1?

Why would you need to know which version of Squarespace your website is built on?

You need to know if your Squarespace website is built on version 7.0 or 7.1 for several reasons, but most importantly it’s so that you can follow the right set of instructions as you build, design and optimize your website.

If your website is on version 7.0 but you try to follow instructions for 7.1, it might not make any sense because it could be totally different on the back end or have the functionality set up in different ways!

Why wouldn’t you know what version of Squarespace your website is using?

The most common reasons why someone might not know which version of Squarespace their website is on is:

Someone else set up or built the site for them
This is the first time they’ve logged into the back end of their Squarespace website in …. a long time :)
They forget or never knew in the first place!

Hey, no shame in not knowing! But it’ll be much easier to work on your website if you know what version you’re using.

How to check if your Squarespace website is built on version 7.0 or 7.1

This is super simple to see!

Log into the back end of your Squarespace website
Click on the Help tab
Scroll down to the bottom where it says “Squarespace” and then lists your version below

If your Squarespace website is built on version 7.1, you’ll see this in the bottom left hand corner:

If your Squarespace website is built on version 7.0, you’ll see this in the bottom left hand corner:
